WWWWhhhhaaaaat?

This morning this kid (whom I can barely carry to his bed anymore) started the first grade!
He was feeling pretty confident when we left the house this morning. On the drive to school I asked him (for about the 5th time in the last 24 hours) "are you nervous?" when all previous replies had been "NO!" this time he calmly said, "I might be a little bit scared about mostly everything". Notice the nerves setting in a little as we arrive to his class...

He was sure that he wanted me to walk him to his class (which is good cause I needed that more than him) and VERY SURE that he did not want me to walk INTO his class! I was not allowed past the door:) I lingered for a bit at my station, even though he refused to acknowledge me. All day I kept thinking "is it normal to call the school to check on your kid?" I should have known that he was fine! By the time I picked him up he was a pro! (a little excited about the big playground)

Side note: Last weekend in the car Jackson asked me if I would get him an iPod for his birthday, I thought on it for a second then said "sure!" then Sophie, clearer than anything she has ever said, and with perfect timing and inflection said "Wwwwhhhhhhaaaat". (Sounded just like the minion on Despicable Me) So now we can't stop saying that at everything:)

Sorry Jay:)

Picture taken: August 22, 2007
Sorry about the picture Jay...I realize it is not your best BUT look at that arm!!!!! I couldn't resist posting this, it is obviously a very old phone pic but I love it! I think Jackson was about 2 1/2 and he still had some serious arm chub:) What a cutie, right? Don't' answer that, I'm not looking for an affirmation here, I already know it is the truth.
The night this picture was taken Jackson and I were in town from Alamo for a visit and Jay and I stayed up late looking through tubs of baby clothes and halloween costumes from the boys. Jamie and Jackson tried on the pupmkin hats.
I LOVE fat babies/toddlers:) and late nigths with my big sisto! Tonight we are going over to Jay's to have a "MEGA sleepover" (more on that later) and I am sure that many a funny things will be said and done...and not nearly enough sleep happening, well worth it though!

What More Could He Ask For?

Jackson has gone camping at Kolob twice this summer without me or Codee. He loves it! Kim and Dee are there on a service mission all summer and love having Jackson with them for company and entertainment almost as much as he likes going. He always has a good time when he is with them, even more so when it is one-on-one time and always comes back with goofy stories and new little inside jokes..."sticky butt?" (all three crack up if you say it). The last time he stayed we went up to get him and stayed the night so they could show us around a little, when it was time to go they asked if he could stay a little longer (of course) but Codee wanted him home. They agreed to let him go with out a fight if he could come back soon, like the next day...with Cooper and Carter...uh yeah, Jackson was on board.

I really don't know what he would do without these two.
Kim said that when they were shooting the guns one of the boys leaned over to the other and said "we better not tell Dad about this".

They wore their "bantanas", apparently not their shirts, came home filthy and had so much fun! When Jamie asked the boys what Jackson's grandparents names are the next day they said "Dee and Ga." :)
Aren't awesome Grandparents the best!?!

Huh.

These lovely ladies are just some of my sisters (and if you are my sister then you get the title:) I just now decided that I am going to randomly pick a picture taken with my phone to post and write about when I only have a few minutes (let's see how long I stick to it). I love phone pics, they are not the best quality but they are always the candid shots which by far makes up for not being a clear shot. This pic was taken on my birthday, my sisters and mom took me to play bingo...no I didn't turn 70, it is a lot of fun even in your 20's. If you are with my family it is anyway. This photo reminds me why I live here in this blasted hot, boring town... I LOVE these girls! (and the ones not pictured) we have such a good time together, I wouldn't rather live anywhere else right now if it is not by them. I don't care if they say the same or not, we are seriously lucky to have each other; to make each other laugh, raise our kids together, bring each other a soda when it is much needed and just be there. Love everyone of you... so lets all move together! Ready? Go!

This Little Girl:)

This little girl had a 6 month birthday today!! We were not about to miss it! Jackson, Sophia and even Quinn and Ry and I went ALL the way to hurricane (man I am getting sick of that drive, time to move Jay!!)to celebrate with her. I was the lucky one to pick her up from her nap too and let me tell you it is a treat! She is such a sweet heart all the time just waiting for someone to talk to her, I can never stop talking about the anticipating look she has on her face like she just can't wait to see who is going to play with her next:) BUT I swear it gets even better when she just wakes up from a good nap, she gets so surprised and excited when you go in to pick her up she smiles so huge it just melts your heart. (She even cuddled with me for a half of a second today, don't tell Jay, she might get jealous)

Oh yeah, and she has a cute tiny tongue.

While this girl is a wee bit of a punk sometimes she is never, NEVER naughty when it comes to Claire. Oh boy does she love her! She always wants to hold her (but not for too long), share blankies with her, give her kisses and lay by her. It is incredibly sweet!

THIS...is not so sweet...but it's pretty funny huh?

Happy Half Birthday Sophia Marie!!!!

My teeny tiny girl turned 18 months old on Sunday, I even tricked some of the fam into celebrating it and everything:) I snapped some cute shots of her in her half birthday outfit which I will def post later, this is just a few candid shots of Soph that I feel sums her up pretty well right now...
Innocently looking for something to do...
See that look? That means she has an idea...AND this one means she was told no. She DOES NOT take well to being told no!So shortly after, she gets her way...like I said, about sums it up.She is my little sour patch kid, she is sour and then she is sweet, ohh sooo sweet:)

Camping Trip...cut short.

Memorial Day...YAY!!!
Camping at Cottonwood... YAY!!!
Four wheeling, fishing, sunburns...and snow?... WHAT?

Friday morning I bust my butt to pack EVERYTHING up. Friday night we meet Codee in Alamo and drive up Cottonwood Canyon and get settled in...everything is going surprisingly smooth so far. Saturday Matt and Misty arrive and we have a perfect camping day, we should have known something was coming. Sunday morning we wake up to this!! Scratch that, this is Sunday afternoon when the snow has begun to melt already, what we woke up to was a full on blizzard...for the desert anyway. It was the craziest, most unexpected thing! The last day of May and we almost get snowed in...huh. Happy Memorial Day.
